SLO County and All Seven Cities are participating in a Tri-County Community Choice Energy Feasibility Study

This is a huge step forward for our county and it’s all thanks to your support for Community Choice and SLO Clean Energy. On October 15, we successfully compelled our County Board of Supervisors to explore community choice energy in cooperation with Santa Barbara County and Ventura County.  Thank you to Supervisors Adam Hill, Frank Mecham, and Bruce Gibson for their support.  Supervisors Debbie Arnold and Lynn Compton still need some convincing and would benefit from hearing from you.

If that huge WIN for our county wasn’t enough, in February, ALL SEVEN CITIES in SLO County opted to participate in the feasibility study, ensuring we have a comprehensive financial analysis to inform the best path forward for our communities. The feasibility study is due back this summer.  We will keep you posted!  (FYI: A feasibility study is a normal part of the exploration process.  It’s conducted by a professional consulting company and uses local energy data and energy market data to evaluate the financial feasibility of a Community Choice Energy program)
